One More Plant :)

So in my other post about plants I was saying I wanted to get a plant we called Cat & kittens when I was a kid, but it cost $15.  I looked again on ebay & found it for a LOT less.  So I could not not buy it.  It came yesterday.  It was just bare roots, so I had to wait for the soil that I had in the garage to warm up before I could plant it.  I planted it just a bit ago.

So What Is It????

Just after Christmas Ed got a bunch of sores around both elbows.  They caused a lot itching & pain.  they were pink blister like sores at first but then scabbed over.  They would start to clear up & then come back. This week it looked like it was going to be the end of them.  But yesterday a new batch started.  So he gave in & saw the doctor, who we think didn't really know what it was either.  We had thought shingles or a fungus infection of some kind.  The doctor finally said he thought it was eczema.  He didn't seem to be too sure though as he said that doesn't usually cause pain.  He did take pictures of it so we are thinking he will post it online & find out from other doctors.  He ordered a cream for putting on it but we ended up not getting it as it cost $87.  Ed is to go back in three weeks.

So what do you think it is?

Plants & More Plants

Awhile back I was thinking about & then trying to locate some plants I had as a kid growing up & had not seen in awhile.  One was call cat & kittens or that is what we called it.  It has pointed leaves with tiny little plants growing along the edges, the kittens.  Another was an air fern.  I found both plants but also found want they called resurrection plant.  I found one kind of air fern after Christmas marked down though it was not what I was thinking of.  So I ordered the other kind & also one of the resurrection plants.  Also found a spider plant with babies at Walmart that too I had been wanting.  It wasn't like I needed more plants but some how they just made me feel good to have a bit of childhood back.  Plus I think some of them are going to be good teaching tools for our grand kids.  :) I am still thinking on the cat & kitten plant as it is going to cost $15 by mail.

Christmas Tradition

A few years ago we start a new tradition with our grand kids.  We make ginger bread houses with each family of grand kids.
